Rao Dan Singh (born 9 May 1959) is an Indian politician and MLA representing the Mahendergarh constituency. Dan Singh is a member of the Indian National Congress party. Singh was born in 1959 in Pahlad Garh. He was educated in Chandigarh and Jaipur and attained MA, LL.B and M.B.A degrees, as well as a Diploma in Labour Law. He is President of Rajasthan University and General Secretary of the Haryana Pradesh Youth Congress. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly 3 times: in 2000, 2005 and 2009. In 2014 Rao Dan Singh lost elections by 34,941 votes in Mahendragarh from Ram Bilas Shama. During the elections Rao Dan Singh was served a notice for cruelty towards animals by the election commission. On May 9th 2014, Rao Dan Singh along with his son Akshat Singh and 8 others were booked for land fraud for defrauding a business and farmers for 100 Crores by using forged documents. A Special investigation team has been setup to probe allegations about other Congress MLA's being involved.
